      MODULE C – INTERSHIP (320 h.) It is an internship at one enterprise or research institution. Under the supervision of the appointed tutoring staff, post-graduates will develop a research project related to one of the topics on Active Aging studied in Module A or Module B. This internship will provide postgraduates with a real life working experience and opportunities to enter the labor market in the evolving sector.  The Advanced Course is developed in collaboration with the following consortium of enterprises and research institutions which will offer internships:

    COURSE SCHEDULE
    A provisional schedule of the first cycle of lectures (from 9-11-2015 to 18-12-2015)  includes the following  topics: Module A:
    • “Aging”
    • “Participatory Design”
    • “Pervasive Healthcare”.

    CERTIFICATION
    At the end of the Advanced Course all participants who have successfully completed the program will receive a certificate of participation issued by the University of Trento.
    SCHOLARSHIPS
    Candidates admitted with a scholarship are entitled to:
    • total exemption from the tuition fee (4.000 €)
    • a scholarship for a maximum gross amount of 1.000 € per month
    Please, note that:
    • Your scholarship will be based on the actual hours of attendance of the course (you will be asked to sign a daily attendance sheet)
    • the final (net) amount of your scholarship will depend on your individual fiscal status in Italy
    • the scholarship will be paid at the beginning of each month following the month during which you  attended the classes

    APPOINTMENT TO SIGN THE SCHOLARSHIP AGREEMENT – from May 31 to June 9

    Before classes begin, you will need to sign a Scholarship Agreement with us. I set up an online tool so that you can easily set the appointment.

    In order to set up an appointment, please, use the button “BOOK APPOINTMENT”.

    • In the window with the Calendar, move the right double arrow (top) until you see “May 2016”;
    • click on one of the following dates: 31 May, 1 June, 8-9 June and select one available slot.
    • fill out the form with your name and your email (the one you used so far) and “Book your appointment”.

      On the day of the appointment you should come to my office with YOUR ID and (IMPORTANT) your CODICE FISCALE (it is the Italian Social Security Number) and your Italian Banking Account Data (without an Italian banking account you won’t be able to receive your scholarship). If you do not have the Codice Fiscale or an Italian Banking Account, you can still come to the appointment, but in any case you NEED TO HAVE BOTH as soon as possible. That means that you have to contact the Welcome Office (see below) and ask them to help you on these issues.

    HEALTH INSURANCE (non European)

    In order to get the visa, you will have to show the Embassy that you have an insurance coverage valid for Italy. Some Embassies provide students with information about medical insurance. Please be careful and do not come to Italy without an insurance for the first days because it is very important to be always covered. In fact, should something happen even in the very first hours of your stay, the medical cares are to be paid directly and are very expensive! Anyway, we suggest you to follow the Embassy’s instructions on this matter. We suggest you to buy an health insurance with a validity until the end of the year 2016. Once you are in Italy you can enroll for the year 2016 to the NATIONAL HEALTH SYSTEM at the cost of 149.77 euro/calendar year: it is valid from January until December regardless the month you pay for it.

    VISA PROCEDURE

    If you are a non-Italian citizen living outside of Italy, please write to our Welcome Office: welcome@unitn.it and explain your situation. They will contact by andwill help you with the procedures necessary to obtain the visa. You need to apply for a student visa for type D. Ask for a multi-entry VISA. Please take immediate contact with the Italian Embassy/Consulate in order to gather information about the student visa procedure.

    If you already have a Stay Permit and you have just obtained your Master’s Degree, you can ask the Welcome Office to help you with the renewal of your permit. However, in order to obtain your renewal, you first need to have an Certification stating that you are regularly enrolled to the Advanced Course in Technologies for Healthy and Active Aging.  

    WELCOME OFFICE: The Welcome Office which is responsible for the following activities:
    • organization and management of services for incoming international students
    • assistance and support for international students who are going to stay in Italy / EU
    • management of activities in preparation for enrollment of foreign students: pre-registration, verification of qualifications, proof of knowledge of Italian language, health insurance
    • organization of information sessions, multicultural activities and other events.

    BY BUS

    • Bus number 5. This is the quickest route up the hill from the city center. The trip takes about 10 minutes. Board at the “Piazza Dante” stop in front of the train station or at the “Piazza Venezia” stop. Get off at the “Povo – Facolta di Scienze” stop just after the blue sign for “Povo”.
    • Bus number 13. Getting to DISI from the city center takes much more time on this bus, but it might be useful if you are in the southern area of the city. Get off at the “Povo – Piazza Manci” stop and walk down the hill to get to the Department.
    • Bus number 16. From the northern part of the city to Povo.

    Route times are displayed at every stop. The stop names are shown on bus stop placards. Tickets can be purchased at news stands. Get them before boarding. Times and fares are available at the Trentino Trasporti web site.

    BY TAXI

    • Find one just outside the train station at the taxi stand to the right as you exit. Or call Radio Taxi at 0461 930002. The cost is 10 to 15 euros.

    STAYING  IN TRENTO THE FIRST MONTH
    Immediate costs to face at your arrival:
    • stay permit application for Non Eu students: from € 153.50 to 173.50 (according to the duration of your stay) + the cost of an health insurance;
    • health insurance for Non-Eu students: € 149.77 (per solar year) for the enrolment to the Italian Health System;
    • private health insurance for Eu students: prices may vary according to the insurance companies
    • bus transport: € 1.20 for a single ticket (valid up to 70 minutes);
    • monthly bus pass € 26.50 or € 31.50 if you are over 29 years old.
    If you don’t already have an accommodation in Trento or you are a non-UE citizen, please be sure to take with you enough money to live the first month. Approximate cost for the first month of stay: € 1200 (including expenses for rent deposit, etc.)
    ACCOMMODATIONS IN TRENTO

    Some of you requested help with finding an accommodation. We have contacted our housing offices in order to offer you appropriate accommodation and we will contact you as soon as possible. Note that, although we do our best to help with accommodation,  we cannot guarantee that we will be able to offer such option. if you want to find a private accommodation you may refer to estate agencies, browse internet and read local newspapers for advertisements. Please find below some suggestions:

    Furthermore, the boards of the various hall-cafeterias of the Departments are usually full of advertisement posted by students and owners.
